🧮 CGPA Formula Explained

CGPA uses a weighted average — semesters with more credit hours have more impact on your final CGPA. The formula is:

Example with 3 semesters:

• Semester 1: GPA 3.5, Credits 18 → 3.5 × 18 = 63.0
• Semester 2: GPA 3.2, Credits 21 → 3.2 × 21 = 67.2
• Semester 3: GPA 3.8, Credits 18 → 3.8 × 18 = 68.4

CGPA = (63.0 + 67.2 + 68.4) ÷ (18 + 21 + 18) = 198.6 ÷ 57 = 3.48
